Que Derry isn’t your average R&B artist. This Beaumont, TX native was practically born singing, gracing church stages by the age of 2 under the watchful eye (and encouraging ear) of his grandmother. Growing up, his musical tapestry was woven with threads of soul-stirring quartet harmonies from the Canton Spirituals, Rev. John P Kee, and the Violinaires, intertwined with the rhythmic swagger of DJ Quik. On a smoother tip, R&B caught his ear through singers like K-Ci Hailey, D’Angelo, Tank, Charlie Wilson and Static Major.
